Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts

Hi guys. Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts is a meme created by bookishly boisterous. This meme gives book bloggers a chance to dabble in areas besides books (but those are welcome too).

1. I think I am out of my reading slump. I enjoy reading again and want to do it more often so …

2. Since I didn’t do the obedience exam, I am going to take a whole new course in obedience. I was to afraid to just do the exam since I missed a lot of lessons do to my anxiety as well.

3. The tv-show Shadowhunters bothers me. Why? Because it seems Clary is way more invested in Simon then she is in the books. Also poor Jace, having to be near all that. She and Jace need to be together.

4. I soled my first dog leash. I am so happy. I sold it to my grandma but still. Maybe I’ll eventually open an Etsy shop. That would be awesome. I have to get better at it first though, there are still little things that need perfecting.

5.  I love how the weather is in the Netherlands at the moment. Sunshine, I can’t get enough of it.

Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts

Hi guys. Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts is a meme created by bookishly boisterous. This meme gives book bloggers a chance to dabble in areas besides books (but those are welcome too).

1. I am in a readin slump and I hate it. There isn’t a book that interests me. I am currently reading City of Ashes but it’s slow going. I can’t push myself to read. Not that I think pushing yourself to read is a good thing, sometimes you have to ride it out.

2. Remember that I said that me and my dog had an obedience exam. I didn’t take it, I was to scared. Anxiety sucks. Hopefully I get another chance.

3.  Even though I am in a slump I have the need to buy more books. More, more, more. I want them all!

4. Remember I said that I need to get back into shape. Still haven’t picked up running yet. I keep putting things of. Why? Although I haven’t picked up running, I am eating better so that’s a good thing.

5. I really want to go to a nail salon sometime in the future.

Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts

Hi guys. Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts is a meme created by bookishly boisterous. This meme gives book bloggers a chance to dabble in areas besides books (but those are welcome too).

1. Yesterday I did a workshop in making dog collars. It was tons of fun. I learned a lot.
I forgot a lot to haha. Especially the beginning, the most important part. Maybe I can get an explanation from the woman who gave the workshop, I hope so. Here is the result:

2. I need to start getting in to shape again. I started running a couple of weeks ago but I haven’t been consistently doing it. Bad, bad me. I want to lose twenty-two pounds before the summer. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it but we will see.

3. Tonight I have agility with my dog. I can just see she loves to do it. Not all of it though, sometimes she gets scared. She needs to build confidence. Just as I do, I am not that confident either. I am constantly afraid I am doing something wrong. `I have always thought that perfection was key, but I need to learn that not everything needs to be perfect especially right away.

4. I had my weekend away and as expected my OCD started to act up. At some point I really wanted to go home, but I fought the urge and stayed. In the end I enjoyed the weekend. Although I still can’t shake the feeling that there was something wrong, amiss about the weekend. I can’t really explain it, my OCD works in mysterious ways.

5. As you might have seen my books came in the mail. I am so excited to read them all. I really need to fight the urge to put my current TBR on hold and read the new books.

6. I am going to start reading The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater. I loved the first book, I hope I love this one just as much.

7. This weekend I am planning to go to the movies with my boyfriend. We want to see Logan. It’s supposed to be really good. By the way has anybody seen Fifty Shades Darker yet? Was it any good?

Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts

Hi guys. Bookish (and not so bookish) thoughts is a meme created by bookishly boisterous. This meme gives book bloggers a chance to dabble in areas besides books (but those are welcome too).

1. I am busy with making my own dog leashes and collars. So far I like it very much. It’s hard, don’t get me wrong. But it’s fun. I make them from something called PP Multi cord, which is made from Polypropylene multifilament fibre. Look it up, if you want to make your own dog leashes and collars just as I do.

2. I am getting an exiting package in the mail in a couple of days. Guess what? Books, lots of books. This is exciting because I can do my first ever what’s in my mailbox Monday. Also their books, what’s not to like about that.

3. I am going away for the weekend. I am going away with the in laws. Where still going to be in the Netherlands but away all the same.  It’s going to be a lot of fun, at least I hope so. Having anxiety, OCD and on and off again depressions, you never know what’s in store for you.

4. Speaking of having mental problems. If you want me to do a post dedicated to it, I will gladly do it. Also you can ask me questions any time, just so you know. At the moment it’s hard for me to live a normal live, to be honest. I have trouble with a lot of things but I am slowly getting there and that’s what’s important.

5. In two weeks time my dog will have to take an exam in obedience. She is not doing so great at the moment but that might be do to her estrus. Dogs are supposed to be less focussed. I hope she will excel when the moment is truly there.

6. I think I am at the brink of a reading slump. I can just feel it. I don’t feel like reading most of the time and I hate it. I still need to finish Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon before the weekend is over, since I promised you guys a review.

7. Recently I tried out hot yoga. I like it so much that I am going to stick with it. I admit the first time I stumbled a lot but I think that will get better in time, at least I hope so.

8. For those of you who don’t know I am from the Netherlands. Being from the Netherlands means that I am not that great in English. I wanted to tell you that it’s okay to correct me.

This is another kind of post then your used to but I had a lot of different things to say, so I thought why not try it this way. What do you think? Worth repeating?

Today I wanted to talk to you about doing agility with your dog. This is not going to be a very long post since I only started doing agility a couple of weeks ago but alas, here it is.

First of all let me introduce you to my dog Zoey:

img_0040

This is her. Isn’t she a beauty. She is a 15 months old groenendael. She is such a wonderful dog, one that gives a lot of love. A little insecure sometimes but if that’s all, I’ll take it.

Anyway since a couple of weeks ago I started doing agility with her. For those of you who don’t know what agility is, it’s a sport in which you and your dog run a trail with obstacles.  Here is a video. So far I only learned the basics, but I can already see that she’s having fun doing it. As well as I. In the Netherlands, I don’t know what it’s like in other countries, not a lot of young people do this. What is it like in other countries? Do you know? Do you do it yourself? Would you like to? Anyway I think it’s a shame young people don’t do this. This because is such a fun way to connect with your dog. I hope one day to participate in competitions with Zoey but until then I’ am happy to learn and have fun. Having fun is key!
